The miles of gypsum sand in southeastern New Mexico is a wondrous site, especially as the sun dips over the horizon. White Sands National Monument is open late under a full moon. It's worth the drive, from wherever you start the trip. In this video, we meet Anne Walthers and Ralph Weber from Boston, Mass. They planned their vacation around this event. We also meet ranger Tirzio Lopez, who leads sunset walks along the dunes.
